The bells are made of iron and coated primarily with copper, along with a few other metals through a casting process. A wooden piece is attached to the centre of the bell for the distinctive sound which is beautifully melodious and haunting. The bells are dented and beaten with a hammer to get the perfect pitch. The metal parts of the bells are neatly joined by hand through a locking system, without using any kind of welding.
